Stringer

Republican lawmaker 71-year-old David Stringer from Arizona resigned after the House of Representatives released on March 29, 2019, a Baltimore police report, which followed an extensive ethics investigation, stating it is alleged Stringer raped in Maryland teenage boys.

Stringer resigned two days before the details being released, after being confronted by House Speaker Rusty Bowers about th4e charges.

Stringer wrote on his Facebook page that more important than the unfairness shown towards him is the fact his constituents cannot have the State Representative they elected.  He proclaimed his innocence and said he is being forced from office.

It is alleged in 1983 his victims went to his apartment a minimum of 10 times to perform penetrative sex or oral sex Springer was 35 or 36 years old at the time.

The 426-page report says Stringer who went by the name “Mr. Dave” approached the victim and another developmentally disabled child in a city park in Baltimore. He invited them to return to his home to have “some sex.” Both children were under the age of 15.

It is alleged Stringer after he performed on the oral sex $10.  He then continued to have the boys perform the sex act on him.

On Sept. 15, 1983, Stringer turned himself into the authorities and was charged with eight unspecified charges related to sexual crimes. His arrest came to the surface in January 2019 when the expunged court file was accidentally released to the Phoenix New Times.

Stringer did not receive prison time and claimed the police did not convict him. Court records show a plea deal was accepted he was sentenced to probation for five years, ordered to receive sex offenders treatment and perform 208 hours of community service.

The House Ethics Committee hired a private investigator to investigate complaints against Stringer for his sex-crime charges, and the investigator handed his findings over to the Baltimore Police.
